The Shota Rustaveli National Theater can be considered as the Georgian National Theater because of its status and history of the creative way. The contemporary artistic and administrative policy the Theater is ruled by Artistic Director and Executive Director. The Theater has artistic freedom; its budget is subsided by the State. The Rustaveli Theater (Shota Rustaveli was 12th century Georgian poet, and his "The Knight in the Panther s Skin" is considered as the Bible of the Georgian Literature) was founded in 1879. The current season is its 129th.
